Preaching the Whole Truth

There are some preachers in the church, and their biggest concern is how to gain and keep members. They preach that God is a merciful God. That’s true according to the Bible, but the Bible also teaches us that God can be an angry God. We need to know the whole truth. If you just tell some people that God is merciful, they might not think about changing their evil ways. If you just tell some people that God is a God that will punish you, that may run them away from church because they don’t want to hear it. I think it is important to preach the whole truth and let God take care of the rest. I think preachers should preach about the good side and the bad side because the Bible teaches us about being saved and being lost. A preacher should preach all of God’s truth to the saved and the lost.


I see people that are lost turning to God, and I see people that appear to be saved that are starting to turn from God. Saved people need to hear the whole truth just as much as the lost. If you are serving the Lord, you need to stay that way. People can change for the better or for the worse.


God’s word gives us a lot of warning in the Bible. (Deuteronomy 8:17) “And thou say in thine heart, My power and the might of mine hand hath gotten me this wealth. (18) But thou shalt remember the Lord thy God: for it is he that giveth thee power to get wealth, that he may establish his covenant which he sware unto thy fathers, as it is this day. (19) And it shall be, if thou do at all forget the Lord thy God, and walk after other gods, and serve them, and worship them, I testify against you this day that ye shall surely perish. (20) As the nations which the Lord destroyed before your face, so shall ye perish; because ye would not be obedient unto the voice of the Lord your God. ”See, people are forgetting the Lord today. That’s why I chose these verses from Deuteronomy of the Old Testament. We need to study the striptures and learn from the Old Testament and the New Testament. The whole Bible is important.
